My Food Philosophy

My Story
My cooking background is unique from other chefs. Originally trained as a physical therapist, I emerged from graduate school in 2002, a bit overweight and unaware of how to cook healthily. It was then I decided to learn to cook with whole fresh ingredients to better my health status.
As a young physical therapist, I used cooking as a way to decompress and began creating healthy meals for patients and friends in Southern California. I inadvertently built a private chef clientele by word-of-mouth amongst executives and celebrities looking to improve their eating habits. In 2007, I earned a degree in Professional Culinary Arts.

With a penchant for making healthy meals, I became the Executive Chef for Klean LA - Meal Delivery for Weight Loss & Nutrition which is now a part of VitaBowl throughout California.
Free time for me was spent volunteering for Project Angel-food of Los Angeles and Meals on Wheels of Monterey Bay. In 2012, I was honored with an award from the prestigious Les Dames D’Escoffier for "Culinary Excellence and Entrepreneurship as a Female in the Cooking Industry". ​
For the last ten years I have been the owner / operator of my family's long-time seasonal Eatery & Ice Cream Shop in Michigan. It was here I brought about a menu made from scratch and ice cream sourced locally. ​After passing the baton to a new owner, I relocated to Florida.

I now reside in Tampa Bay where my solar powered spirit is cooking up something fresh daily.
